Runescape Videos

Does that look cool or what?! You'd probably wondering what it is. It's the all-new Zybez Runescape Videos section. It's what they call a "video card" because it looks like a Pokemon card. But anyways, back to the point: the new Runescape videos section on Zybez.net allows for anybody to submit a video (from youtube). Then, this video is added to a categorized public section. People can then rate and comment on these videos. Check it out.

Age of Conan picking up in popularity

Now that Age of Conan is finally coming close to release (again), people are giving the game more attention. The main header area on MMORPG.com is showing no less than THREE slides about Age of Conan. Even though the last one was just a little developer's update - just random babbling with no new news.

As of this blog entry, it is 65 days away from launch (according to ConanHQ). So, just over 2 months. Now the question is: will I play it? Next to WoW's upcoming Lich King, it'll be a tough choice. I might buy it for my brother and play it a little bit, yes.

Runescape PK Videos and movies on all subjects

PK Videos are *big*. In fact, they account for the most amount of traffic on Runescape Community forums. And it is no surprise that Zybez Runescape Help has finally released a Runescape Videos section. I went on there today, and I have to say, it's pretty good. It has videos from YouTube primarily but also has the capabilities to provide file-front and any other hosted videos as well.

The advantage? Videos are sorted nicely. There are plenty of categories, so everything is findable easily.

And what's more? W13's famous Runescape Movies 1 and 2 can also be found there. I even came across an interview with Zezima!

End of Gold Sellers (RWT) on Runescape?

As you probably know, Jagex has made some huge changes (not huge themselves, but with huge consequences) over the past few weeks. They've placed a trade-balance requirement in Runescape now. What does this mean? It means that if I'm giving you a rune plate (worth 65k) and you're giving me a rune hatchet (20k), the game won't let a trade occur. This is because the difference between the cost of the two items is too great.

Gold Sellers (RWT) used to trade in sums like 100 million gp, in exchange for nothing. So, Jagex's new update puts an end to all this real-world trading.

What would I do if I was a real-world-gold-seller? I'd start selling power-leveling. You know what that is, right? You pay me $100, and I train your boring Ranged skill stat from 20 to 60. Of course, with this, the risk is so much higher on the player's part. What if the power-leveling company steals the account and sells it on their website back to other players?

In the end, I'm happy that -something- is done to stop real-world-trading; however I'm not happy that the freedom of being able to trade with whoever you want for whatever item you want is now gone. I used to be able to casually give my friends armor and a weapon so we can go training. Or I used to be able to run to the bank for my rune-mining friends with their newly smithed items, and bring back ore for them to smelt at the furnace. Now, that's impossible.

That's okay though. There will be other games, and they will be fun. (Mechscape? or maybe games not made by Jagex)

Oh yeah, check out this blog that referred to this blog! People are actually linking to this blog now, how exciting! And finally, if you're planning on visiting Banff, click the link ;-)

Runescape Black Knight's Fortress Quest Guide

Black Knight's Fortress

Description: The black knights are up to no good. You are hired by the white knights to spy on them and uncover their evil scheme.

Difficulty: Novice

Length: Medium

Requirements: 12 Quest Points, able to survive attacks from lvl-33 knights.

Items Needed: Bronze med helm, Iron chainbody, and Cabbage (Do not use one from Dranor Manor.)

Quest Points Reward: 3

Reward: 2500 coins.

Start Point: White Knight's castle, Falador.

To Start: Speak to Sir Amik Varze on the third floor in the White Knight's Castle in Falador.

Instructions:

1. Talk to Sir Amik Varze, he will tell you that the Black knights are planning to destroy the White knights. He will ask you to spy on them. Accept his challenge.

2. The next place you need to go is the Monastery. It is located east of Ice Mountain. When you reach it, go north and you will see some Cabbages. Pick one up.

3. Now it's time to start your mission. Go to the Black Knights Fortress which is located on the north side of Ice Mountain. If you have the Bronze medium helmet and the Iron chainmail right now, wear them. After putting them on, open the sturdy door in the central part of the fortress, facing the south. Push the wall just behind the door and go up the ladder. Once inside, you can put your normal (stronger) armour on for extra defence.

4. After you push the wall, climb the 2 ladders to get to the top floor. Climb down the ladder on your southeast side. Open the door on your east side. Open the other door and climb up the ladder. This room has two cannons and a Black knight. Climb down the ladder on your east side. You will be now in a room with a Zamorak altar. Open the door and a Black knight will attack you. Either kill him or ignore him, then keep going. Climb the ladder on your southwest. Now you will be in a small room.

5. Now we will start spying. Click the option on Listen-at grill. The witch will say that the secret weapon is almost ready. She will need the last ingredient which is a Cabbage that grew in Draynor Manor. She will say that if the goblin fetches the wrong Cabbage, the secret weapon will be destroyed. That's your way to destroy the weapon!

6. Go back downstairs to the main floor and push the wall. Now it's time to open the door on your east. One of the guards will say that the Black knights are having an important meeting and they will kill everyone who gets in. Say that you are brave and go in. One of the Black knights will attack you. Either kill him or go up the ladder. Walk east and south and push the wall. You will see a hole. Remember the Cabbage you picked? Use that Cabbage on the hole. The Cabbage will fall into the cauldron and destroy the weapon. Now your job is done.

7. Go back and talk to Sir Amik Varze. He will reward you.
